There’s a specific kind of Christmas gift that gets opened, appreciated for four seconds, and then lives in a cupboard until it’s quietly given to someone else. Usually it’s a nice enough object that had nothing to do with the person receiving it.
The fix isn’t spending more. It’s specificity. A $25 mug with someone’s actual name, their dog’s face, or the phrase they say constantly beats a $60 generic gift almost every time — because it could only have been for them.

Order dates for December, honestly
Custom gifts are made to order, so the calendar matters more than it does with something off a shelf.
By early December is comfortable for our existing designs. Production runs 1–3 business days, then delivery.
By late November if you want a fully custom design — a pet portrait, your own artwork, a specific phrase. That work needs a design step and your approval before anything is pressed.
Mid December onwards gets tight, especially for anything posted outside the GTA. Message us before ordering and we’ll tell you plainly whether it lands in time rather than taking the order and hoping.
The honest version: the last two weeks of December are hard for every made-to-order studio in the city, ours included. Ordering in November costs the same and removes the entire problem.
Gifts by who you’re buying for
The person who’s impossible to buy for
They already own everything and return half of it. Personalisation is the move — not because it’s clever, but because it can’t be bought anywhere else. A mug with the phrase they always say. A tote with their name on it. It sidesteps taste entirely.
Parents and grandparents
They want evidence you thought about them, not something expensive. A mug with a kid’s drawing on it, or a family name and a date, works far better than another candle. We print from photos, including children’s artwork and handwriting.
The pet person
There is no upper limit on how much a pet owner wants their animal on a mug. Send us a clear, well-lit photo of the face and we’ll create a portrait. This is one of our most requested custom jobs and it consistently produces the biggest reaction.
Teachers, coaches and the people who helped
The gift that works here is small, sincere and useful. A mug or a tote with a name is genuinely used, which is more than most end-of-year gifts manage.
Secret Santa and office exchanges
There’s usually a price cap and a room full of people who barely know each other. Something funny and useful clears that bar. Mixed designs in one order are fine, so a whole office exchange can come from a single run.
Couples and newlyweds
Matching or complementary pieces work well here — the same design on two mugs, or a his-and-hers pair. It’s the one context where “matching” reads as thoughtful rather than lazy.
What personalisation actually gets you
Three levels, and they take different amounts of time:
A name or a date. Use the personalization field at checkout. Same production time as anything else — 1–3 business days.
Your own photo. Pets, kids, a place that matters. Send it over and we set it up. Needs a few extra days for design and approval.
Something built from scratch. An inside joke, a family motto, a design idea you can describe but not draw. This is a conversation, and it needs the most lead time.
Two things worth knowing before you order
We don’t gift wrap. The gift boxes in our product photos are styling. Everything ships in protective packaging, and it’s better to know that now than to discover it on December 23rd.
Made to order means made to order. Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting. That’s why the design is fresh and the quality is checked by a person — and also why the calendar is the thing to pay attention to.
