The Black Cat Tote Bag by PrintMyVibe is a large natural cotton canvas tote carrying a small, slightly indignant black kitten in a witch hat several sizes too big for it – orange hat band, orange bow at the neck, tail curled neatly around its front paws. Above, “Happy Halloween” is hand-lettered, “Happy” in black script and “Halloween” in orange with a swash underline.

It is the warm end of Halloween rather than the spooky end. The cat is drawn with big round eyes and a slight frown, which is the expression of every cat that has ever been put in a costume, and that is the joke. Anyone who owns a cat recognises it immediately.

This is our larger blank – 40cm tall by 38cm wide with a 30cm handle drop, against the 30 x 36cm of most of our totes. The extra height makes it a genuine everyday bag: a 13-inch laptop, a notebook and planner, a 500ml water bottle, phone, wallet, sunglasses and a book all go in at once, which is more than a standard tote manages.

About our printing: The design is pressed into the canvas rather than stuck on top, so there is no plastic panel to crack and nothing to peel at the fold. Each bag is printed by hand in our North York studio and inspected before it ships.
